The Seven last words of Jesus

As Jesus hung on the cross, He spoke seven words or statements. The exact order of the words is not known, an suggested order is given.

1. To the people crucifying Him, He spoke;
      »   Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do, Luke 23:34.
2. To His mother and in the presents of John His disciple. He said;
      »   Woman, behold your son!   to John, He said;   Behold your mother! John 19:26-27.
3. To the thief on the cross, He said;
      »   Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise, Luke 23:43.
4. Knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said;
      »   I thirst! John 19:28.
5. About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying;
      »   Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?  Matt 27:46 & Mark 15:34.
6. When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said;
      »   It is finished!   And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit,   John 19:30.
7. When Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said;
      »   Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit, Luke 23:46.
   
            Upon the last word, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
