All of us grew up with some pattern of an earthly dad, (whether present or absent).
Even though we may acknowledge that God is our Father, that does not negate
our past experience. We need to believe with our whole heart that God is our Father,
knowing that God is a good God.
Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is
your Father, He who is in heaven, Matthew 23:9.
Who is your life patterned after?
Earthly idols, stars, sports figures, your parents or is it
patterned against your heavenly Father?
You have heard it said of a son, when he reaches a certain age,
that, "he is just like his dad". This is nearly always meant of his
earthly dad, and may or may not be a complement.
Pattern your life after your heavenly Father, who is in heaven.
Your heavenly Father desires to bless you
The blessing is up to you, you need to cooperate.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a
future and a hope, Jeremiah 29:11.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly
places in Christ, Ephesians 1:3.
Do the works of God
Jesus said: the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He
sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like
manner, John 5:19.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see
your good works and glorify your Father in heaven,
Matthew 5:16.
