10For He had healed many, so that they pressed on Him in
order to touch Him, as many as had plagues.
11And unclean spirits, when they saw Him, they fell down
before Him and cried, saying, You are the Son of God!
12And He strictly charged them that they should not make
Him known. MKJV |
- The people with afflictions and in need of healing were pressing against Him
so as to touch Him, (perhaps some out of curiosity, some expecting and some
in faith). The scripture does not categorize the motives of the people, rather
the focus is on the uncleaned spirits. For when the uncleaned spirits saw Him,
(the people) fell down before Him and acknowledged that He was / is the Son of
God. We need to acknowledge and proclaim Jesus as the Son of God, for that is
where our power originates from, (the name of Jesus).
- Verses 11 and 12 talk about unclean spirits in association to the plagues
on the people. Confirming that there are unclean spirits that come against our
health, (spirit of infirmity, deaf
and dumb spirit, etc...).
- The demons know that Jesus is the Son of God, as shown in this healing passage
and in other teachings, "Thou believes that there is one
God; thou does well: the devils also believe, and tremble",
James 2:19.
- The demons, the unclean spirits, know very well that when they are confronted
by Christ Jesus they must flee. Another example of this is the
healing of the man called Legion. The many demons that
were in this man did not even attempt to plea-bargain to try and remain in the man.
