35Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching
in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness
and every disease among the people.
36But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion
for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. |
- Jesus went all around the cities and villages, however, in this passage Jesus was teaching,
preaching and healing in the synagogues. God's house is His synagogues and churches that is
where His people are meant to go to be feed and healed. As it tells us in scripture:
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering (for He is faithful who promised),
and let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works,
Hebrews 10:24-25. Fellowship of the believers is important.
- If you read the next verse it implies that Jesus saw the multitudes outside of the synagogues
or what we also call our churches. The people outside the walls of the church don't nessarly
know God and therefore are completely without a Shepherd. Hence it says that Jesus was moved
with compassion for them, however it does not say that He healed them. Much like when Jesus wept
over Jerusalem, but they would not come to Him. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the
prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have gathered your children
together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!
Matthew 23:37.
- Jesus healed every kind of sickness and every kind of disease among the
people. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today,
and forever, Hebrews 13:8. If He / God
healed in years past, He will also heal today.
