12And drawing near the gate of the city, even behold, one
having died was being carried out, an only son of his mother, and she was a widow.
And a considerable crowd of the city was with her.
13And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and
said to her, Do not weep.
14And He came and touched the bier. And the ones who bore
him stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, Arise!
15And the one who was dead sat up and began to speak.
And He delivered him to his mother. MKJV

- God carries about His people, not only did He raise the son from the dead,
but at the same time He had compassion on the mother, for the mother was facing
widowhood and most likely also financial hardship without her son. So this miracle
touched and blessed both the mother and the son.
- Jesus was most likely known by them in the procession, but it still took wiliness
on the mothers part to allow the procession to be interrupted, And it took faith,
belief and possible hope, for her to stop weeping when Jesus spoke it.
- He then touched the coffin, by doing this according to OT. law, you would be
unclean for 7 days after touching a dead body. God / Jesus was rather more concerned
about the welfare of the living.
- Jesus then spoke, "Young man, I say to you, Arise!", great authority can be in few Words.
We do not need to yell or speak hand full of words, but rather we need to realize and
exercise our authority in Christ Jesus.
