10And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the
Sabbath.
11And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of
infirmity eighteen years, and she was bowed together and was not able to be
completely erect.
12And when Jesus saw her, He called and said to her,
Woman, you are delivered from your infirmity.
13And He laid His hands on her. And instantly she was
made erect, and she glorified God. MKJV |
- The woman in the synagogue, most likely, was not expecting her healing,
she was there either out of tradition or habit or perhaps even genuine worship
not expecting God to move in such a way. When we attend a Church
service, we should expect the power of God to be there.
"For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power",
1st Corinthians 4:20.
So many times we go to a church service expecting nothing and that is exactly
what we get, (nothing). "For as he thinks in his heart,
so is he", Proverbs 23:7.
- This also shows that it is God's will, it is His nature to heal. Jesus was
not asked to heal, the woman did not put a demand on Him, such as
the woman with the issue of blood, Jesus did not have
to heal, He just did. If we are receptive and willing, it is always God's will
to heal.
