13And coming into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, Jesus
asked His disciples, saying, Who do men say Me to be, the Son
of Man?
14And they said, Some say that You are John the Baptist,
some Elijah and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
15He said to them, But whom do you say
that I am?
16And Simon Peter answered and said; You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God.
17And Jesus answered and said to him;
You are blessed, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you,
but My Father in Heaven.
18And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this
rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of
heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20Then charged He His disciples that they should tell no
man that he was Jesus the Christ. MKJV |
27And Jesus and His disciples went out into the towns of
Caesarea Philippi. And in the way He asked His disciples, saying to them,
Who do men say that I am?
28And they answered, John the Baptist. But others say
Elijah, and others say one of the prophets.
29And He said to them; But whom do
you say that I am? And Peter answered and said to Him, You are the Christ.
30And He charged them that they should tell no one of Him.

18And it happened as He was alone praying, the disciples
were with Him. And He asked them, saying, Whom do the crowds
say that I am?
19Answering, they said, John the Baptist; but some say,
Elijah, and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.
20He said to them; But who do you
say that I am? Answering, Peter said, The Christ of God.
21And He strictly charged them and commanded to tell no
