Bible / teachings / about Him

It is all about what the Father did for the Son Jesus Christ.

I never thought much about this truth before, it sounded trite to me and perhaps the reason was that whoever would tell me this would not explain it, they would tell it to me as a dry statement that they had heard somewhere and perhaps they did not understand it themselves. Lately, I have even heard fellow Christians tell me, "He made it all about me, it is really about me". If you somewhat know your scriptures and have a gift of debating, you can even present a cleaver argument. Let's first discuss this, I will show you how not only it is not about you, it cannot be about you.

But, do you really want it to be all about you? You might be a reasonably good person, your good qualities might actually out-weigh your bad, but the bad does still exist. And if it is all about you, it is about your good attributes as well as your bad. All our righteousness is as filthy rags, Isaiah 64:6. So if you are still living in a fleshly-body we are going to come short of obtaining the fullness of God's righteousness.

It's all about what the sinless Man Jesus did for us.

Jesus came and died, so to bring us back into right fellowship with the Father. However, the name of Jesus still remains exalted above all. Therefore, God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name which is above every name, Philippians 2:9.

We can enter into the finished work of Jesus, when we believe on Him.

I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me, you can do nothing, John 15:5. Another way of looking at this is, is to say the only part that is about us, is the part of us that is in Christ Jesus. If our wish is for it to be about us, we remain in our pride, having worldly values and outside of Christ.
