Matthew 13:31-32 Mark 4:30-32 Luke 13:18-19
31He put out another parable to them, saying, The kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; 32which indeed is the least of all seeds, but when it is grown it is the greatest among herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.
MKJV
30And He said, to what shall we compare the kingdom of God? Or by what parable shall we compare it? 31It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that are in the earth. 32But when it has been sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches, so as to enable the birds of the air to roost under its shade.
MKJV
18And He said, What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? 19It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and threw into his garden. And it grew and became a great tree, and the birds of the air lodged in its branches.

  • Scripture tells us that the kingdom of God is within us, Luke 17:21. Whereby the kingdom may at times seem very small in our lives, like that tiny muster seed, with proper nourishing, hope and trust in God, His kingdom will become the greatest thing in our lives, if we keep on nourishing the seed. Scripture gives us the example of the man that casts seed into the ground; and sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed springs up and grows, he knows not how, Mark 4:26
  • according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith, Romans 12:3.
  • A currency within God's kingdom is faith. All things are accomplished by faith and God has dealt to every man the measure of faith, Romans 12:3. Realizing and expanding God's kingdom within yourself takes faith and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, Romans 10:17.
  • Jesus also said; If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this sycamore tree, Be rooted up and be planted in the sea! And it would obey you, Mark 17:20.
