Acts 4:29-31
29And now, Lord, behold their threatenings, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your Word, 30by stretching forth of Your hand for healing, and miracles, and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy child Jesus. 31And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

Insights
  • The apostles had just been threatened by the rulers, elders, scribes and high priest of the temple. Here they are now back together as a group and asking God that with all boldness that they may speak His Word. By stretching forth His hand to heal, that signs and wonders may be done.
  • Signs and wonders were often used to bring people to the Lord. Jesus did not require a certain set of Christian beliefs before healing could be had.
