Matthew 14:34-36 Mark 6:53-56
34And when they had passed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret. 35And recognizing Him, the men of that place sent to all that neighborhood, and brought to Him all who were diseased. 36And they begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His robe. And as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

 53And crossing over, they came into the land of Gennesaret and drew to the shore. 54And when they had come out of the boat, at once knowing Him, 55they ran all around that neighborhood, and began to carry on cots those who were sick, wherever they heard He was. 56And wherever He entered, into villages or cities or country, they laid the sick in the streets and begged Him if only they might touch but the fringe of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made whole.

Insights
  • When the people of that land recognized Jesus, for in several passages the fame of Him has spread through the land. The men of that land gathered up all of their sick and diseased and brought them to Jesus. Thus the people of that land had compassion on their fellow brothers.
  • They begged Him if only the sick and those with infirmities could but touch the hem of His garment, this is exactly what the woman with the issue of blood did. Perhaps they new from OT. scriptures that healing was in His wings, But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall, Malachi.
