23And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. 24And His fame went throughout all Syria. And they brought to Him all those being badly ill suffering various diseases and torments, and those who had been possessed with demons, and those who had been moonstruck, and paralytics. And He healed them.

38And He said to them, Let us go into the next towns so that I may proclaim there also. For that reason I came forth. 39And He proclaimed in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out demons.
MKJV
42And day coming on, going out, He went into a deserted place. And the crowds looked for Him and came to Him, and held Him fast, not to pass away from them. 43And He said to them, I must proclaim the gospel, the kingdom of God, to other cities, because I was sent on this mission, 44And He proclaimed in the synagogues of Galilee.

Insights
  • Jesus had a traveling ministry. He went all about Galilee preaching, teaching and healing all kinds of sickness and diseases, hence healing is included in the Gospel message. The word for salvation in the Greek is "sozo" Strongs #4982 meaning 'to save, deliver, protect, heal, preserve, made whole'. Thus healing is in the atonement and we should not overlook this; God wants His people to be well, healed and whole in every aspect, physically and emotionally.
  • Note; Jesus went around teaching and preaching the kingdom of God, not just the Word of God, but the kingdom. All Christians need to learn about God's kingdom and how it operates. God's kingdom has structure and order to it, things do not happen by random chance, take time to learn about God's kingdom.
  • The people had compassion on their brethren, they sought Jesus out and brought their sick to Him, having either a hope or expectation.
  • Jesus went about doing His Father's business; He said, He must preach the kingdom of God to other cities and people, for this purpose He was sent. This is what we might call the great commission, If Jesus was busy doing this, how much more should we also be preoccupied with spreading the good news of the gospel, healing and casting out unclean spirits.
